Research for a sustainable world

Do you want to contribute to a sustainable world? You can do that by encouraging and supporting the School’s independent and curiosity-driven research.

The world is facing dramatic challenges. Climate change, reduced biodiversity, increased inequalities within and between countries, erosion of the structures of international cooperation and the vulnerability of the political and financial systems are just a few examples. To meet these complex societal challenges, high-quality independent research with both disciplinary depth and interdisciplinary collaborations is needed.

Within its subject areas, the School is at the international forefront when it comes to addressing societal sustainability challenges. Sustainability perspectives are included in all our programmes and we conduct research that relates to all the Global Goals in Agenda 2030. Within several of the goals, we have research of particular importance, for example Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth, Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities and Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production.

Your support enables us to develop new research projects.
