SI Scholarship Pioneering Women in STEM

A fully funded scholarship aiming to empower women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This is a Swedish Institute Scholarship, aimed towards woman from ten designated countries. Five master's programmes at the University of Gothenburg are on the list for the upcoming academic year 2025/2026.

Eligible countries

Female citizens of the following countries are eligible to apply: Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam.

Eligible programmes at the University of Gothenburg

You need to apply for them as your first hand choice, in the first application round, for the academic year 2025/2026.

You can also apply for the SI Global Professions Scholarship and the Axel Adler Scholarship when applying to the SI STEM-scholarship. 

Selection

University of Gothenburg will select suitable candidates and nominate them to the Swedish Institute. The selection is based on the applicants' relative academic excellence (GPA), academic merits and study profile. 

A CV or motivational letter is not required for this scholarship application.

Pioneering Women in STEM scholarship results will be published on the Swedish Institite's website: Pioneering Women in STEM on April 24, 2025.
