Short description

The medieval church in Södra Råda was burnt down in an act of arson in 2001, but it was decided early on that the church would be reconstructed. The reconstruction project includes practice-led craft research on medieval craftsmanship and wooden church building, but also research on digital documentation and visualization. The aim of the project is to investigate medieval building construction and working methods through full the scale reconstruction by skilled craftsmen. The digital investigation aim to digitally reconstruct and visualize the buildings whole life course through VR and AR and also to contextualise archival material in situ in this cultural-historical environment.
