Research environment: SCoPE – Sports Coaching and Physical Education
Short description
The research environment SCoPE – Sports Coaching and Physical Education focuses on pedagogical and sociological questions about sport and leisure cultures, which includes studies of leadership and coaching, young people's attitudes towards club and self-organized sport, and aspects of what characterizes a sustainable elite sport. Furthermore, pedagogical and subject didactic issues with a focus on the school subject of physical education and health are part of the research group's activities. The questions here are related to studies of teaching, learning and development as well as research on policy and conditions for the school subject's opportunities to contribute to sustainable development and sustainable health. Important goals for the group are to conduct practical studies that connect research and practice and to offer a supportive environment in which the members can develop.
SCoPE welcomes researchers and PhD students who would like to present their work and/or seek collaborations.
Students who would like to carry out their bachelor's or master's work within SCoPE's research area, please email one of the SCoPE group's contact persons for topic suggestions.
