From Rector Magnificus to management strategist. Academic leadership ideal in transformation
The project aims to make visible from the gender perspective the leadership ideal attached to the position of rector at Swedish colleges and universities. The ideal is problematized at the intersection of two ongoing changes - partly the quantitative increase of women in the positions of Vice-Chancellor and Vice-Principal, and partly the economic and organizational transformation of the university. This was achieved partly through interviews with the principals and partly by reviewing the rector's recruitment processes between 1990 and 2012.
