About Rikard Wingård

Born in 1981, graduated in 2011. I have conducted research into the history and theory of reading, in particular the reception and aesthetics of early modern "Volksbücher" (chapbooks). I am currently studying early modern manuscript culture in Sweden and how the notion of scribal publishing relates to modern theories of the, supposedly, profound influence of print on societies, cultures and mentalities. I am also working on an introductory textbook on bibliography and the history of the book.

Book history, history of reading, reception theory, bibliography, the premodern and early modern age, popular literature, ecocriticism.
