About Hui-Wen Lai
My current research focuses on climate variability and change over the Third Pole and adjacent regions. I focus on processes that help us to understand the physical interactions between large-scale circulation, mesoscale convective systems, and regional climate changes in terms of convection and precipitation over the complex terrain region. I am particularly interested in improving our understanding of how clouds and convection have changed in this region using numerical weather and climate models.
