About Eva-Corina Caragounis

Eva-Corina Caragounis is an Associate professor of Surgery at the University of Gothenburg and a Senior Consultant at the Department of Emergency and Trauma Surgery, Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Current research concerns the definition of chest wall injuries, healing, surgical indication, surgical technique and long-term follow-up. She is involved in the international Chest Wall Injury Society (CWIS) and has participated in several international multicenter studies and the development of treatment guidelines. Other research areas concern the development of trauma organization, triage of trauma patients and the use of AI methods for decisions on transport destination.
