About Deniz Kellecioglu
Deniz Kellecioglu is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Social Work, University of Gothenburg, since January 2020. His teaching covers international social work, political economy, social policy, welfare policy, human rights, globalization, and research methods, as well as the aspects of power and social justice. However, most of his higher education, including his PhD degree, is in Economics. He has also taught in this field at Stockholm University and Södertörn University.
His previous work experience is mostly outside of Sweden, with the latest position being in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). This is a Pan-African organization where research work is conducted in order to suggest policy recommendations to member states in Africa. Before this position, he worked for Sida, the Swedish international development cooperation agency, and in Zimbabwe as the Policy and Advocacy Economist for the Swedish civil society organization Afrikagrupperna and their partner organizations in the country.
