About Christian Dam

Christian is a doctoral student in marketing at the University of Gothenburg. His research focuses on the cross-field of consumption and culture. In his doctoral research project, he employs an interpretive lens through which he explores how nostalgia permeates the marketplace and how consumers make the present meaningful through consumption-mediated interaction with the past. He studies this through ethnographic inquiry into the vintage cycling community. In addition to his research interests, he finds great joy and inspiration in teaching classes on globalisation, consumer behaviour, and qualitative methods. Previously, he has taught at University of Southern Denmark as well as guest lectured at Lund University (Campus Helsingborg).

In 2023, he received the Nicosia Best Paper Award at the Association of Consumer Research Conference in Seattle.
