Biography
Licentiate Degree in Psychology.
Teaching
I am currently teaching statistics at Department of Psychology and Department of Sociology and Work Science at University of Gothenburg. I am also teaching at University of Borås.
I am also supervising essays at Department of Psychology at University of Gothenburg and University of Borås.
I have also held outside lectures in economic decision-making for municipal and private industry.
Research interests
My research interest is primarily concerned with the psychology of judgment and decision making. Decisions made in an economic context is of special interest. I believe that by studying economic decision making through the lenses of psychological research we will be able to shed light on some of the most intriguing problems of our time. Hopefully we will gain further knowledge of phenomena on a macro level such as the global financial crises and on an individual level such as problems with repayment capacity. The problems can have severe negative consequences for individuals in both direct and indirect ways. Therefore, it is important to gain knowledge of their origin to soften the impact of the negative consequences.
Current research
My research focuses on credit assessments in banks. By mapping the loan officers decision process I strive to present a valid picture of how decisions are made in the loan context and also to present some suggestions of how the lending process can be improved. Until now this research has resulted in a literature review and an interview study in which 88 loan officers from the four large banks in Sweden have been given the opportunity to explain how they make credit decisions. The research is made in collaboration with Gothenburg Research Institute at The University of Gothenburg.
