About Anna Forné

Anna Forné is an interdisciplinary scholar in Latin American literary and cultural studies whose research explores the intersections of literature, visual culture, and politics in the 20th and 21st centuries. Her work is particularly concerned with the cultural and intellectual history of Latin America in the aftermath of the Cuban Revolution, with a sustained focus on how aesthetic forms engage with political experience and historical memory.

Her research has developed a distinct profile around the testimonial genre and its adjacent forms, examining how boundaries between document and fiction are negotiated and reconfigured. Across her publications, she investigates threshold genres that blur distinctions between literary, documentary, and visual practices. A central dimension of her work concerns archives and materiality, addressing how texts, images, and material objects are mediated and reactivated in literature and cultural discourse.

In addition, she studies cultural exchanges between Latin America and the Nordic region, examining how ideas, images, and narratives travel and are reinterpreted across different contexts.
