About
This course consists of two parts: field method techniques and fieldwork. The course builds on the student's previous background in linguistic methods and provides advanced knowledge of linguistic and sociolinguistic field method techniques. The course includes theoretical discussion of issues in fieldwork with informants and in data collection methods. The fieldwork topic is chosen in accordance with the student's subject area and specialization.
Prerequisites and selection
Requirements
The requirement for admission to the course is a Bachelors degree, 15 credits of which must be an academic essay.
Selection
Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 225 credits.
For admission to the summer 2021 and onward the following selection applies: selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
