Unique collections and publishing support

Gothenburg University Library is one of Sweden's largest and broadest research libraries subject-wise, with unique collections and access to extensive digital sources.

As a researcher or doctoral student at the University of Gothenburg, you get access to the library's collections, which contain almost 3 000 000 printed volumes and more than 5 000 printed journals. The library's licenses also give you access to hundreds of databases, more than 23 000 e-journals and almost 2 500 000 e-books.

Services for researchers

  • Discounts on publication fees

When you publish in an open access journal, you often have to pay a publication fee to the publisher. As an employee at the University of Gothenburg, you can use the University Library's publishing agreements to not have to pay, or get a discount on the fee.

The University Library provides platforms for open journals, publishing of peer-reviewed monographs and anthologies and publishing in Acta series. The library also provides support for publishing research data.

  • Digitisation of printed material from the library's collections

The University Library digitises material from its collections for researchers and research projects related to the University of Gothenburg. Previous projects have included collaborations with Litteraturbanken, the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University and the Swedish National Data Service.
