Short description

Inspired by nature’s design, Philipp Klahn’s research focuses on the synthesis of bioactive molecules and drugs, with a special interest for the development of extra-cellular targeted drug conjugates, bioresponsive tool compounds and smart fluorophores.

In the KlahnLab, we aim to combine classical fields of organic synthesis such as total and semi synthesis with modern MedChem techniques, molecular modelling, conjugation chemistry and biological assays in order to develop natural product derived drugs, design molecular tools compounds to answer biological questions and develop extracellular-targeted drug conjugates to selectively address cancer cells and multi-drug-resistant bacterial pathogens.
