Short description

The focus of this project - the pursuit of organizational legitimacy among companies in quasi-markets - thus relates to the more general question of what the state should do and what can and should be produced and provided to citizens through for-profit organizations. The purpose of this research project is to examine the profit-making companies' pursuit of organizational legitimacy in quasi-markets; how public - sector contracting companies identify themselves, their work and the services they provide as for - profit organizations performing public tasks.

The goal is to contribute with theory development; a detailed theory of the organizational legitimacy of for-profit actors and the pursuit of legitimacy in quasi-markets.
