Short description

The trend is that an increasing proportion of staff in the retail industry is temporary employed, for example through employment agencies. Perhaps it is not only the retail industry’s requirements that influence how they recruit and staff but also the share of temporary workers has an impact on how work is organized in turn. One of the starting points of the study "Flexible retail industry" is that one cannot assume that organizations are always strategic and rational in the choices of how they should organize themselves.Making five to six case studies, researchers will find out about various staffing and recruitment strategies in the retail industry. The results with contribute to increased understanding of how employment influence the firm in different ways, as well as in terms of organization and operations as of staff and customers.
