Visit from the French Embassy

Published

In connection with the French Embassy's tour in Sweden, CFT researchers Emma Björner and Eva Maria Jernsand had the opportunity to present the network on tourism and experiences that they coordinate within the framework of the EUTOPIA university alliance.

The French Embassy's attaché for research and higher education, Valérie Lemarquand, wanted to gain insight into the universities' and colleges' relations with France and discuss opportunities for cooperation in research, education and mobility. The meeting was chaired by GU's Vice Chancellor for Education Pauli Kortteinen. Two other GU researchers as well as representatives of the EUTOPIA support team attended the meeting.

The attaché told that from the side of the French embassy there is an opportunity to co-arrange conferences in a Swedish-French context. Such conferences have previously been arranged in, for example, Umeå (SLU) on the forest, in Borås on new textiles and design, in Stockholm (KTH) on energy and in Örebro on sports (forthcoming). Furthermore, there are mobility programs to apply for (up to SEK 50,000).
