On Friday 21 October, Arve Henriksen will be given the title honorary doctor at the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts. Arve Henriksen is a world leading and highly original trumpet player in the field of contemporary improvisational music, originally from Norway but currently living in Mölnlycke, Sweden. His previous visits at The Academy of Music and Drama have been important sources of inspiration for our students. The University of Gothenburg hereby becomes the first academic faculty to give the title Honorary Doctor to a musician in the improvisational field.
