Nature Reviews Microbiology publishes an overview on “Antibiotic Resistance in the environment” by CARe-scientists Joakim Larsson and Carl-Fredrik Flach

The environment plays important roles in the evolution of antibiotic resistance, in the transmission and spread of several bacterial pathogens, and as a mere reflection of the regional antibiotic resistance situation in the clinic.

In this invited review article, Larsson and Flach provide their perspective on current evidence, describe risk scenarios, discuss methodology, and identify some actions to mitigate risks.
