High quality of the PhD programme in Psychology

During 2015 and 2016, the Swedish Higher Education Authority (SHEA) evaluated the quality of a number of PhD programmes in Sweden, one of which was the PhD programme in psychology at the University of Gothenburg. The decision from SHEA was that the PhD programme in psychology is well structured and of high international standard. The overall evaluation concludes that the programme fulfills all quality criteria and, thus is of a high quality.

– SHEA finds that our PhD programme fulfills the quality criteria, and we are of course both happy and proud of this, says Leif Strömwall, deputy Head of department. The evaluation process did show some areas in need for development and other with potential for improvement, which is useful. Sometimes the point of view of external experts is needed to make one aware of processes and practices not noticed from the inside perspective.
