Main focus for Zhicong's PhD project is to study tree’s response (function and resilience) to extreme conditions (drought, heatwave, and flooding), and climate-vegetation feedback. The main tool is process-based model at local and regional scales, and the results will be evaluated on field experiments.

Main supervisor is Annemieke Gärdenäs and examiner Henrik Aronsson, Department of biological and environmental sciences. Co-supervisors are Lasse Tarvainen (BioEnv) and Deliang Chen (Earth Sciences).
