Qarin Lood
Senior Lecturer
Department of Health and RehabilitationAbout Qarin Lood
I am an associate professor in occupational therapy, employed as a senior lecturer at the Sahlgrenska Academy and appointed research group leader for the research group FRESH at the Centre for ageing and health, AgeCap.
As a researcher, my focus lies on how a person-centred approach could be applied on health and social care, rehabilitation and research with frail older people. For instance, research projects I am involved in concern how to make frail older persons' voices heard, so that they can be involved and influence both services and research of relevance for them. My work is mainly in multidisciplinary contexts, and I strive to understand how a person-centred approach could be applied to different organisations and by different professions.
As an occupational therapist, my expertise is broad, with experience from working with children, adults and older persons. When I teach, it mainly concerns supervision of PhD students, person-centredness and the scientific process.
