Mirka Duijn is a senior lecturer in film at HDK-Valand, Gothenburg University. She is also a filmmaker with experience in various film forms, including documentary, fiction, interactive, VR, and experimental film. Mirka is particularly interested in myth-making and the mediation of place and identity. Her work often involves archives and archival material, where she renegotiates historical narratives.

The Industry, another interactive documentary delving into the illicit drug industry in the Netherlands, was launched in 2018 and received a Peabody Award the same year.

Mirka's most recent film, "Shangri-La, Paradise under Construction" (2022-2023), created in collaboration with Nina Spiering, is currently gaining international recognition through distribution on TV (SVT in Sweden), in cinemas, and on various VOD platforms.
