About Merima Bruncevic

Dr. Merima Bruncevic is Associate Professor (Docent) in Jurisprudence, where she specializes in legal philosophy, cultural heritage law, and intellectual property. Her research explores the intersections of law, culture, and technology, with a particular focus on cultural commons, transnational heritage, and the impact of artificial intelligence on legal systems and cultural production. 

She holds a PhD in Jurisprudence from the University of Gothenburg and an LLM in Entertainment Law from the University of Westminster. Prior to her academic career, she worked as Legal Counsel and Intellectual Property Manager at The Walt Disney Company in London. 

Dr. Bruncevic has held international research positions in Rome, Paris, and Los Angeles. She has led and contributed to numerous funded research projects on topics including digital cultural ecosystems, AI in higher education, and transnational heritage governance. Her publications include several monographs and edited volumes on law, art, and cultural heritage, as well as a forthcoming book on Art Law. Alongside her research, she is actively engaged in academic leadership, peer review, and interdisciplinary collaboration at both national and international levels.
