About Elina Lindgren

Presentation

Phil. doctors degree in Political Science from the University of Gothenburg since 2018. Since September 2019 employed as a postdoctoral fellow in the project "Knowledge Resistance: Causes, Consequences and Cures" at the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication.

Research area

Political communication and its effects on people's perceptions of reality, and on political attitudes.

Framing- and argumentation theory.

Survey methodology.

Current research

Dissemination of misinformation in news- and social media, media trust, and causes and consequences of knowledge resistance.

Framing of consensus issues in opinion polls, and its effects on survey outcomes.

Subjective interpretations of the mean value in Likert-type scales in web-based attitude surveys.
