Short description

To achieve the existential necessity of green transition and the Climate Neutral Cities 2030 agreements, there is a need for swift scaling of technical solutions for reducing net greenhouse gas emissions, i.e., net-zero solutions. The international market for net-zero solutions is growing fast, yet there are still significant hurdles for mainstream adoption. In other words: the solutions for achieving a transition to climate neutrality exist yet are not scaled.

In large parts, research attributes the lack of scaling of solutions for achieving transition to climate neutrality to lagging digital transition capabilities. With most of the solutions being dependent on the digital capabilities of the organization implementing them (e.g., digital infrastructure, data governance, change management), sub-par digital transition will invariably result in sub-par green transition. What is called for is a parallel and joint green- and digital transition, i.e., twin transition. UTCC will support the scaling of net-zero solutions through twin transition in urban areas. This will be achieved through validating net-zero solutions, and identifying and propagating best practices for scaling.
