Getting to Gothenburg

The airport of Gothenburg is Göteborg Landvetter Airport.

You can also reach Gothenburg by ferry, or by train.

From Landvetter Airport to Gothenburg Central Station

The airport is situated 25 kilometres from Gothenburg.
Take the airport shuttle, Flygbussarna, it leaves from Landvetter every 15 minutes and arrives at the Central Station in approx. 30 minutes.
It costs approx. 120 SEK for a one-way ticket. Please note that no cash is accepted on the bus.

For local travels in Gothenburg

Use tram or bus operated by Västtrafik.
You can buy a ticket on the tram (only credit card, no cash accepted), or in any 7-Eleven, Pressbyrån or Västtrafik kiosk at the Central Station (ok with cash).
A ticket valid for 90 minutes costs 42 SEK.
You can also buy a ticket valid for 24 hours for 115 SEK, or 72 hours for 230 SEK.

Please note that it is becoming less and less common to pay with cash in Sweden. Some shops/restaurants don’t accept cash at all, and the same goes for the tram and bus system.

Dinner costs vary a lot, it could be pizza & soft drink from 150 SEK or fine dining from 600 SEK, and anything in between.
Coffee costs 30-40 SEK in a café.
