Scholarship possibilities for international applicants 2024

Published

The application window for the academic semester 2024/2025 is very much open. However, for many students, funding their studies in Sweden is a big concern, especially for fee-paying students. Luckily, the University of Gothenburg has a good track record of attracting SI Global Scholarship recipients. We also have our own Scholarship Programme that covers the tuition for 112 of our current students.

The Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP) are awarded to ambitious global professionals for full-time master's studies in Sweden. The Scholarship is fully funded and is aimed at citizens in 41 listed countries. There are several criteria that need to be fulfilled to be eligible, and work experience is one of them. Through the scholarship, the Swedish Institute aims to develop a network of future global leaders who will contribute to the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

We attract the right students

The University of Gothenburg currently has 55 SI Scholarship holders from the admission years 2022 and 2023. We are not surprised at all; every year, we attract ambitious students who want to make a change! We will happily welcome more for the admission in 2024.

Our own Scholarship Programs

Since the SISGP only focuses on a few countries and is aimed solely at master's level studies, the University of Gothenburg has worked hard to establish our own scholarship program, the Axel Adler Scholarship. This is a tuition fee waiver and is open to students who choose the University of Gothenburg as their first-choice university on universityadmissions.se. The faculties will choose the most qualified students. Currently, 112 students are funded by this program, and we aim to reward 70-80 new scholarships for admission in 2024.

Students applying for a Master's Programme at the School of Business, Economics and Law also have the possibility to apply for a partial tuition waiver, called The Richard C. Malmsten Memorial Foundation Scholarship.

The Chances of Getting a Scholarship
