Cooperation and Outreach

Outreach and cooperation is an important aspect of our work. Our cooperation with the Swedish Institute for the Marine Environment, the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management, and the Water Authorities in Gothenburg gives us a unique connection to other authorities, and Viable Seas is a platform to meet with the industry. Our marine research stations are open to schools and the general public. Altogether, the Department is an important node in a complete network of marine research, education, development, and innovation.

Centre for Sea and Society

Being the host department of the Centre for Sea and Society we are closely connected to research within finance, social science and humanities. This gives us a unique interdisciplinary profile.

Cooperation Partners

Our cooperation with the Swedish Institute for the Marine Environment, the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management, and the Water Authorities in Gothenburg gives us a unique connection to other authorities, and the Maritime Cluster of West Sweden brings us a place to meet with the trade and industry.

For Schools and the Public

At the research stations at Tjärnö and Kristineberg, school classes and other groups can book a visit. For the general public we have many other activities during summer. For example: Visit the Tjärnö Aquarium, participate in Children’s Summer Lab, and listen to popular science talks.
