The rightful ownership, proper storing and multiple interpretations of museum collections has become a growing public concern and hot topic of debate in contemporary societies. In this seminar we discuss what is at stake when collections classified as anthropological or of natural history are mobilized by source communities, museum professionals, researchers and artists. How can these mobilizations help us think and act beyond dichotomies such as nature/culture, human/non-human and art/science?
