N. Katherine Hayles will present chapters from the forthcoming book Technosymbiosis: Futures of the Human. As with our recent text seminars, there will be no lecture or presentation, but we will discuss the distributed texts the first hour, without our guest, and the second hour Kate Hayles will join us for Q&A and discussion.

The chapters we’ve decided upon are:

  • Chapter 1. Technosymbiosis: A Framework for Our Futures (ca 20 pages)
  • Chapter 6. The Ethics of Robot Subjectivity: McEwan’s Machines Like Me and Ishiguro’s Klara and the Sun (ca 30 pages)

Texts will be made available upon request only –
