Background Gregg Bucken-Knapp is Professor in the School of Public Administration. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from The George Washington University (Washington, DC) in 1999, with a specialization in comparative politics. Research Interests: Bucken-Knapp’s broad research interest is comparative public policy, particularly with regards to immigration and immigrant integration policy in a Nordic context. He has most recently served as the transnational research coordinator for the European Commission Directorate General Justice funded project ”Local Welcome Policies: EU Migrants” (2015-2016), and was a researcher on the European Joint Programming Initiative: Urban Europe financed project “Urban Implications and Governance of CEE Migration” (2014-16). Previous major grants include funding from the Swedish Research Council and the Danish Research Agency. Bucken-Knapp has also been the recipient of a Fulbright Grant.
He is also convenor of the Political Studies Association Comparative European Politics Specialist Group.
