About Öyvor Volle

Øyvor recieved her first violin at the age of four. She continued with professor Leif Jørgensen from eight years of age, and moved to Germany when she was 16. Only 18 years old she got the job as the leader of the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, a position she had for five years. Øyvor is now the leader of the Gothenburg Opera, and a lecturer in violin and chamber music at the masters programme of orchestra at the University of Gothenburg.

She formed the Vertavo Quartet in 1984 and with them she has performed all over the world. Favourite places include Carnegie Hall in New York, Concertgebow in Amsterdam and Wigmore Hall in London.

Øyvor Volle has recieved the Shell Prize, Grieg Prize, Klæstads Grant, Nordea Prize and Guido Vecchis Grant.

She plays on a Cerutti violin from 1785 owned by Dextra Musica Norway.
