Physics education research (PER)

Research group

Short description

The group uses knowledge from advanced experimental research in physics to develop experiments, simulations and videos for use in secondary school. The group focuses on how visualization of different concepts in physics teaching can support learning. One aim of the research is to develop and investigate critical aspects, experiments and simulations that are put together into lesson sequences that can be used in secondary schools and teacher education.

The group creates the concept FysikLek, a science club for kids, teaches physics for last year high school students, and actively participates in outreach activities such as school visits and the International Science Festival in Gothenburg.
The group is active in the professional training of research students who proceed to careers in industry, public authorities, academia or schools.
