Short description

This project introduces a new way of thinking about economic growth. At present, there has been an increasing need to develop a new approach that addresses not only resource sustainability but also the characteristics of a modern, knowledge-intensive economy. The focus is thus on innovation-led growth that comes into play via self-enforced knowledge milieu, both on the sector-level but also in regards to the Swedish economy as a whole. To understand these dynamics, a network analysis and simulation approach is employed, based on the view that the economy is interconnected on the micro-level. The aim is to view economic growth as the result of an emergent network structure that is a consequence of multiple generations of firms reinforcing product knowledge and organizational routines.
