External accounting and corporate relations
This project intends to critically analyze the changes in recent years when it comes to external accounting. One of these changes is the introduction of IFRS in Swedish accounting practice. IFRS is based on an increased use of market valuation in external accounting. However, the problem of market valuation is underestimated. The increased use of market valuation means that companies' results and position have increasingly become a reflection on how the market has developed. Thus, a company's signature in the annual report says more about the assessment of the market than the actual performance of the company.
