“It feels great!” Professor Ulla Eriksson-Zetterquist is Director at Gothenburg Research Institute (GRI) at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. She is also the newest addition to RISE Research Council: “I am honored and excited, and I think this is a great opportunity to collaborate with researchers from other organizations.”

RISE Research Council was established in 2016. The main responsibility of the council is the distribution of strategic competence funds and to guide the RISE board on cross-functional investment projects. The aim is to ensure the industry influence over the research strategy and focus of RISE. a State-owned Swedish research institute.

"Amazing meeting place"

In the words of Ulla Eriksson-Zetterquist: “The Research Council combines members from both industry and academia, which is an amazing meeting place, and a possibility to gain more insight into current research issues from different contexts”.

Together with the other 21 members of the council Ulla Eriksson-Zetterquist will also provide guidance on different research issues, as well as support RISE on research orientation and priority issues for the industry: “There are very good opportunities for collaboration in a number of issues."

Ulla Eriksson-Zetterquist is also excited about the possibility to share the results of a number of GRI-studies about AI and marine issues such as energy efficiency in the shipping industry in particular, and on that basis continue with further studies with new partners.
