About Ulrika Möller

Ulrika Möller is Associate Professor in Political Science. She is the Director of Studies of the Master’s Programme in Political Science (MaPS, advanced level) and ‘Statsvetarprogrammet’ (Svep, undergraduate level and taught in Swedish).

Research interests

Ulrika's research interests are within the areas of international politics, foreign policy analysis and comparative politics. Issues of particular interest are states' aspirations for representation in the UN Security Council, democratization and political leadership, as well as disarmament and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.

Ongoing research

Ulrika works with the research project 'The Quest for Power in International Politics: Campaigns by and Selection of Non-Permanent Members of the United Nations Security Council'. The project is studying state campaigns for a non-permanent place in the UN Security Council. Why do states want a seat in the Security Council? What kinds of influence are a seat assumed to bring? How are the campaigns run? Which campaigns are the more successful?

Ulrika teaches in international politics as well as on democratization and political leadership. As the Director of Studies, she is responsible for the development of two major and popular educational programmes in political science (MaPS and Svep).
