About Marianne Molander Beyer

Research interests My research interest is dual. On the one hand, I am extremely interested in Swedish-French relations in the 18th century and text publication. I took my doctorate in this field at the Faculty of Arts and have recently published a comprehensive work on the subject in France.

On the other hand, I have a great interest in research carried out at the Faculty of Education. Here I work with question regarding why students in compulsory schools, upper-secondary schools, and higher education choose not to take modern languages and how we can motivate them to do so. Assessment issues are central in this area, and I am participating in a research project funded by the Swedish Research Council concerning the expanded assessment role of the teacher.

Teaching interests I teach and supervise about various learning theories and methods targeting the learning of modern languages as well as various forms of assessment. Moreover I find it interesting to lecture about the French influence on our language and our culture.
