Campus Medicinareberget
Medicinareberget in Gothenburg is a hub for life sciences. Here you will find education in health, healthcare, and dentistry, as well as in the natural sciences.
At Campus Medicinareberget, you can study to become a biomedical analyst, physiotherapist, dentist, nurse or medical doctor, but you can also study subjects such as biology, molecular biology, chemistry, earth sciences, marine science, environmental science and cultural conservation.
Medicinareberget is located near the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, between Guldheden and Linnéstaden. The area also accommodates, among others, the National Dental Service's specialist clinics, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, the Swedish NMR Centre and the Wallenberg Centre for Molecular and Translational Medicine.
Our premises
Medicinarelängan, Hälsovetarbacken, Odontologen, Natrium and Conference center Wallenberg are some of our existing premises on Medicinareberget.
Education in medicine and healthcare professions is mainly conducted in Medicinarelängan, at Hälsovetarbacken, at Odontologen and the Center for Health Sciences at Wavrinskys plats (old Geovetarcentrum). All of these buildings have modern lecture halls, group rooms, well-equipped computer laboratories and functional study rooms.
Students of medicine and healthcare professions will conduct their clinical training at the clinical training centre, KTC, at Hälsovetarbacken. KTC consists of several patient rooms, an emergency room, an operating room, an X-ray room, a speech and hearing lab, a CPR room, a conversation room, a creation room, a medicine room, a rinse, storage and several small rooms where you, as a student at Sahlgrenska Academy, can practice practical handling, care of the patient, conversations and team collaboration.
At the Center for Health Sciences, our master's students study; here, the master's programs in public health science, global health and applied biostatistics are included. There are lecture halls, group rooms, study spaces, and a lunchroom in the building.
At Odontologen is Folktandvården's education clinic. If you are training to be a dentist or dental hygienist, you will treat patients here during the training.
The house Natrium, adjacent to Medicinarelängan, brings together almost all natural science education. Here there are lecture halls, course labs, group rooms and study spaces.

Student spaces
There are shared spaces and kitchenettes for students in all buildings, with access to microwave ovens for those who bring their own food. There are also plenty of benches and tables where students can sit to eat or study.
In addition to lunchrooms, there are study spaces, a resting room and prayer rooms for you as a student. The study spaces are scattered in Medicinarelängan.

Cafés and restaurants
There are several cafés and lunch restaurants on Campus Medicinareberget, and in its vicinity: Hälsocaféet (Hälsovetarbacken), Café Anatomen, Salt & Syra (Medicinarelängan) and Lyktan (Conference Center Wallenberg). In addition, there are restaurants at the hospital and at Odontologen.
At the hospital, there is also a Pressbyrå convenience store and Dahls Bakery.
There are two libraries on campus
As a student at Campus Medicinareberget, you have access to the Biomedical library and Hälsovetarbacken’s library.
You can also use the resources of the University of Gothenburg's library.
Close to public transport
Regular buses and tramlines operate between the two closest stops, Medicinaregatan and Sahlgrenska Huvudentré, and to the rest of the city of Gothenburg. You can easily plan and manage your travel and tickets using the Västtrafik ToGo app or the online trip planner.
