Most of you have bought something online, and during the pandemic shopping online has become the norm for many people. As online orders have increased, so too have product returns. With return rates up to 60%, this means big problems for the environment. In this seminar we will discuss this issue using data from our own research as well as from other sources. We will look at attitudes of consumers to returns and suggest ways of improving the environmental impact of returns.

Speaker: Sharon Cullinane, is a Professor of Sustainable Logistics at School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg. She has lectured, researched and published in the field of logistics and transport policy and the environment around the world. Her current research interest lies in the area of e-commerce and its impacts on the environment, focussing particularly on returns.
