Rebecca Vidin is looking forward to do more diving

Rebecca Vidin is new research engineer at the Kristineberg Center. Her journey there has included Hawaii and Scotland, among other places. She used to be a student at Gullmarsgymnasiet in Lysekil, and now she is happy to be back.

What are you going to do here?

"I will be working on nutrient analysis and quality assurance of our methods so that we can be accredited by Swedac. I am also working on an environmental monitoring programme for primary production, sampling and analysis."

"I'm based at Kristineberg, which is great because I came here for visits and seminars when I was first studying marine biology at Gullmarsgymnasiet in Lysekil."

What did you do before?

"I did my Bachelors in marine biology at the University of Hawai'i, and then my Masters in Scotland. Before I came here, I worked at a microbiology lab in Uppsala doing pharmaceuticals tests, and at an environmental lab in Lidköping doing contaminated soil testing."

What do you do when you are not working?

"In my free time I enjoy cooking, watching TV with my cats and reading. I'm also going to start diving more now that I've moved to the sea. I used to live in Uppsala but now I have moved to Lysekil."
