Corpus for courses: Data-driven course design
Culture and languages
Guest lecture by Tom Cobb, Université du Québec à Montréal. Arranged by the French research seminar and the research area Language learning and teaching. All interested are welcome!
More and more, language teachers are asked to find their own inputs to fashion into language courses, for example a set of readings from news or other texts for a course to build reading skills. This is an opportunity but also a challenge. How will texts be found, sequenced and tested to match the growth edge of a particular set of learners? The tools of data-driven learning can be adapted for the job.
