Ingvor Ring is new office cleaner at Tjärnö Marine Laboratory

In April Ingvor Ring started work as both office cleaner and assistant cook, both tasks she has broad experience with from previous workplaces. She is replacing Kirsti Voss. When not at work, she enjoys oil painting and gardening in her greenhouse.

What will you do here?

"I will work as office cleaner. To start with I have cleaned the entrance to the auditorium, lecture halls, aquarium and other public areas, but also wash sheets and towels. In addition, I am employed as an assistant cook, in which I make meals for students, visiting researchers and employees."

What have you worked with previously?

"I am a trained assistant nurse, and have recently worked for Home care on the Koster Islands. Before that I ran the café Kaffekompaniet in Strömstad. I have also worked at Daftö Resort as both receptionist and cleaner."

What do you do when you are not working?

"Spending time with family and friends is great fun, including a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dog. I love gardening and cultivate tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and chilis in my greenhouse. In recent years I have started to paint, mostly with oil but sometimes water colour. Favourite motifs are sea and other nature. We have a motorhome which often goes to Halland and Skåne."

Something else you would like to share?

"It will be great to work at the Tjärnö Laboratory, partly because I will have so close to my work when I live on Tjärnö. It was a long way to my work on Koster, but now I can cycle. It is wonderful to get to work in this fantastic setting."
