Hands-on training and Master Course in Bioinformatics

We are keen on fostering a deep understanding of bioinformatics and statistical analysis. Therefore we are involved in arranging courses, workshops, and hands-on sessions.

Master courses in Bioinformatics

Next Generation Sequencing Analysis with clinical applications, 7,5 credits (ECTS) BMA231

The course includes a combination of lectures and preactical sessions where participants will focus on the analysis and interpretation of clinical Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, applying various bioinformatics webtools. 

The statistical tool R will be introduced to perform analyses and visualize the results. 

The course covers essential concept sin molecular biology and genetics as well as the principles on NGS applications, with a focus on targeted resequcnign and RNA-sequencing.

Bioinformatics in Genomics, BIO511

You will learn to apply bioinformatics methods for sequence analysis to understand the evolution and function of genome, gene, and protein sequences. During the course, you will be introduced to the basics of the Python programming language and independently sequence and analyse a bacterial genome. No prior programming knowledge is required.

Bioinformatics in RNA and Proteins analyses, BIO512

Biological and medical research is increasingly focused on studying the processes that take place in a cell, an organ, or an environment to gain a comprehensive view of all the genes and proteins being expressed. Healthcare is also generating more and more data from patients that needs to be analysed and interpreted. As a result, there is a growing need for professionals who can carry out bioinformatic analyses and interpret the results from a biological or medical perspective.
