Spectral Flow Cytometry

The Spectral Cell Analyzer Sony ID7000 — a cutting-edge spectral flow cytometer, is available for all researchers at the University of Gothenburg through support by Core Facilities at the Sahlgrenska Academy.

Spectral flow cytometry represents a major advancement in the field, capturing the full emission spectrum of all fluorochromes present in a stained sample. This enables the combination and resolution of many more markers than conventional flow cytometry. Equipped with five lasers and 147 detectors, the ID7000 allows for the detection of 42 or more parameters simultaneously, enabling comprehensive, high-dimensional single-cell analysis.

By making this powerful instrument accessible to all researchers, Core Facilities aim to further advance flow cytometry research and support innovative, data-rich studies across the field.
