Collaborative and industrial doctoral students
The department collaborates with other higher education institutions, organisations, companies, and representatives from municipal, regional, and national public sectors to admit collaborative PhD candidates (industrial doctoral students) to our doctoral studies.
The department’s activities focus on the digitalisation of society and are conducted within the Division of Informatics, and the Division of Cognitive Science, Information Technology and Learning, Interaction Design, Communication.
Completing a doctoral programme means that the collaborative doctoral student’s employer contributes to the development and upskilling of their staff, that the department can increase its critical mass, and that applied research projects addressing societal challenges can be carried out.
