The 14th National Forum for English Studies
"English Studies at the Crossroads", University of Gothenburg, April 21 - 23, 2027
Conference Theme
Thirty years ago, the first National Forum was hosted at the University of Gothenburg. We would now like to welcome you back to Gothenburg to consider the last thirty years of English Studies and how this might inform our path going forward. With this in mind, the conference theme is English Studies at the Crossroads. A crossroad can be seen as an intersection where things or people meet, but also figuratively as a critical turning point where decisions must be made about future paths. More literally, we welcome you to our campus at the Faculty of Humanities, located a stone's throw from Gothenburg's korsvägen, the crossroad.

To present in the PhD session we require the following information from you:
- A title for the presentation
- Key words which indicate the topic and field of your project/presentation

Submissions should be sent to nationalforum@eng.gu.se by January 10. Please submit in advance of that if you can.
We also want to remind and encourage PhD students that they can submit full length standard presentations to the conference as well if they wish.
In addition, we will arrange a pre-conference PhD student workshop on the topics of presenting research in non-academic contexts, and using social media to your advantage. There will also be a PhD student mingle on the first day of the conference.
