LSM 700

The Carl Zeiss LSM 700 Laser Scanning Microscope is a user-friendly confocal microscope with great sensitivity, thanks to its highly corrected optics and the efficiency of its detectors and electronic components.

LSM 700 on the inverted Axio Observer.Z1 microscope, controlled by the Zen Black software, is an ideal combination for either fixed-sample or live-cell observation and quantitative imaging.

Laser Lines

Pigtail-coupled solid-state lasers with polarization-preserving single-mode fibers. Laser diodes lines: 405 nm 5 mW; 488 nm 10 mW; 555 nm 10 mW; 639 nm 5 mW (each at the fiber output end). Fast (pixel-precise) individually variable intensity setting of all laser lines.


Live cell imaging

The system includes a Pecon stage incubation system, which keeps the cells healty for an extended time. The Definite focus, a hardware autofocus system designed to eliminate Z drift, ensures maximum reliability in live cell imaging. Definite Focus uses the infrared light of an LED to sense the path length between the objective and the bottom of the culture vessel, and corrects the focusing, if necessary, via the Z control of Axio Observer.Z1.

Epi-fluorescence illumination

The illumination system, HXP 120, features a high-performance metal halide arc discharge lamp housed in an elliptical reflector that focuses the output into a liquid light guide for delivery to the microscope optical train.
